An Eldunarí is a gem-hard object found within a dragon's chest of the same composition as its scales.
Eldunarí is a way for dragons to retain their consciousness, allowing them to "survive" after their carnal shells have been slain.
The Eldunarí will take on the color of the scales of the dragon and will glow like an ember. When a dragon takes refuge in its heart of hearts, it takes with it the energy it had when it died.
After a dragon disgorged its Eldunarí, anyone in contact with it could call upon the dragon's strength and communicate with it over great distances as if standing next to its possessor.
